The role of a Notary Public is to verify that you are who you say you are. To do this, I need to see an up-to-date identification document. Usually this would be a Passport or driving licence. I also need proof of address such as a utility bill dated within the last three months.
The document most frequently notarised is a Power of Attorney — for individuals buying or selling property overseas, and for corporate clients opening a bank account or branch office abroad. Certified copies, affidavits, academic certificates and company records are also common.
In most cases a current passport and recent proof of your UK address. Some matters need enhanced verification — please ask when you book so nothing delays your appointment.
